Connecting Biodiversity and Society: An Introduction to the Activities of Akira S. Mori Lab
Overview
We work on understanding the complex relationships between biodiversity and the ecosystem functioning it supports through field studies in various regions, such as Hokkaido, Japan, and the Arctic tundra. This event will introduce these field-based research activities and our forest restoration initiatives in Shiretoko, which is a representative activity linking biodiversity studies to society. Please enjoy a variety of exhibits, including videos, informational panels, and physical displays. Interactive exhibits will also be available, such as VR videos and touchable 3D models that visitors of all ages can enjoy.
Additionally, during the times listed below, we will offer a hands-on activity where participants can create their own herbarium (a preserved plant specimen in an oil-filled bottle).
