Message from cell to cell
Overview
Inside our bodies, cells have been found to package proteins and nucleic acids (such as DNA and RNA) into capsule-like structures called exosomes, which they produce internally. These exosomes act as messengers, delivering information to specific distant cells.
Remarkably, a single milliliter of blood contains trillions of exosomes. By studying exosomes, we can gain insights into how cells and organs communicate with each other—revealing the hidden conversations happening within the body.
