The Lotus of Altruism

Overview

"In collaboration with Kongobuji Temple, Koyasan University, the towns of Koya, Hashimoto, and Katsuragi, and Wakayama Prefecture—all partners of RCAST through a regional cooperation agreement—we are producing and exhibiting the symbolic art piece “Rita no Renge” (The Lotus of Altruism) at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
This initiative aims to pass on values such as the spirit of altruism, the preciousness of life, and the rich traditions and culture rooted in these communities to the next generation.
As part of the event, we will introduce related activities and offer a hands-on workshop where participants can create lotus-themed art using traditional Japanese washi paper (Kōya-gami).
