Sensory Tour

Overview

A Sensory Tour is an experiential program in which participants walk through a field environment using all five senses to engage more deeply with their surroundings and record what they perceive. The tour focuses on sensory elements such as noise, light, smell, and texture—factors that may be difficult to notice or, conversely, overwhelming in everyday life—and visualizes this sensory information on a map.
For individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those with developmental or mental health conditions, understanding the comfort level of their living environment is particularly important. Through shared awareness and reflection on sensory experiences, the Sensory Tour offers an opportunity to consider how we can create environments that are more inclusive and comfortable for everyone.
