Ultraprecision Manufacturing Yielding the Advanced Science & Technologies

Overview

With its unique precision manufacturing, the Mimura Laboratory contributes to a wide range of advanced sciences from the fields of astronomy and space to cell biology. Here, mirrors mounted on state-of-the-art microscopes and space telescopes for solar observation are exhibited, and the ultra-precision manufacturing method of mirrors is explained. High-speed imaging of processing phenomena using synchrotron radiation X-rays will also be presented. Visitors can also experience ultra-precise measurement using some of the equipment and using everyday objects.
