The amazing world of insect olfaction!

Overview

Insects have an excellent sense of smell and sense a variety of information in their environment. Our aim is to create sensors and robots that detect odours using insects' sense of smell and implement them in society. We are also working on understanding bio-intelligence by using behavioural, neurobiological and genetic engineering techniques to understand the tiny brains inside insects' heads, and reproducing them using supercomputers. Our research is presented in an exhibition.
