Ultraprecision Manufacturing Yielding the Advanced Science & Technologies

Overview

At the Mimura Laboratory, we contribute to a wide range of advanced scientific fields—from astronomy and space science to cell biology—through our unique precision manufacturing technologies.
This exhibit features mirrors used in cutting-edge microscopes and space telescopes for solar observation, along with explanations of the ultra-precision techniques used to fabricate them. We will also introduce high-speed imaging of material processing using synchrotron X-rays.
Visitors will have the chance to experience ultra-precision measurement using some of our instruments and everyday objects.
